Human Brain (The introduction)
Human Brain is located in the Cranial cavity.
Cranial bones protects it from injury. It weighs 1200-1400 grams. Number of nureons 100 billions. It forms 98% of whole CNS. Study of brain is called Encephalogy.
Brain is classified into three parts-:
1. Fore brainb(PROSENCEPHALON) -: It consists of DIENCEPHALON and TELENCEPHALON it give rise to Thalamus, Hypothalamus and cerebral ncortex, corpus stratum amygdala, hippocampus
2. Mid brain :- derived from (MESENCEPHALON)
3. Hind brain :- (RHOMBENCEPHALON) it consist of MYLENCEPHALON and MESENCEPHALON they give rise to Medula and phones, cerebellum respectively.
Human Brain consists of 3 coats :-
1. Dura matar- Thick, tough fibrous tissue
2. Arachoind- Thin deelicate connective tissue, non vascular
3. Pia matar:- Thin, highly vascular and npifgmented.
Cerebral spinal fluid is present in Sub archanoid space (CSF).
Brain stem which is formed by the composition of Medulla + Pons + Midbrain + Dien Cephalon. It is covered by the cerebrum and cerebellum. Lymph like extracellular fluid secreted by choroid plexuses by filtration of blood which acts as a shock absorber and nourishes brain tissue.
